HeartCode® BLS – Online (AHA 2025)

HeartCode® BLS – Online (AHA 2025)

HeartCode® BLS is the American Heart Association’s blended learning pathway for Basic Life Support (BLS) training. This modern format integrates flexible, self-directed online education with mandatory hands-on skill practice, delivering standardized and reliable resuscitation training irrespective of where learners are located.

Learners begin by completing an interactive online course that covers essential BLS principles and protocols. After successfully finishing the online component, they participate in an in-person skills assessment session led by an AHA-authorized Instructor or conducted at an approved simulation facility. This blended approach provides convenience and flexibility without compromising the rigorous skill competency standards established by the AHA.

Conclusion & Recommendation

The AHA 2025 Guidelines reflect the latest scientific evidence and best practices in resuscitation care, making them the current standard for Basic Life Support training. As a result, courses based on the AHA 2020 Guidelines are now outdated and are being progressively discontinued.

The AHA 2025 HeartCode® BLS program stands out as the preferred training option due to its blended learning structure, which combines self-paced online education with focused hands-on skill evaluation. This approach ensures efficient use of time while upholding the American Heart Association’s rigorous competency standards.

When compared to the traditional AHA 2020 BLS course, the 2025 HeartCode® BLS format is:

- Clinically current and aligned with the latest AHA recommendations
- More time-efficient with significantly reduced classroom hours
- More convenient and learner-friendly for busy healthcare professionals
- Fully compliant with current AHA certification requirements

Recommendation: For individuals and institutions seeking up-to-date, flexible, and AHA-approved BLS training, the AHA 2025 HeartCode® BLS program is the most effective and future-ready choice.
